Biography
Associate Professor, Department of Architecture and Design, Faculty of Engineering, Musashino University. Born in Kobe, Japan. Ph.D. in Engineering. He received his B.Arch. from Kyoto University in 2013 and his M.Arch. from the Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, in 2015. As one of the first cohort of the Kyoto University International Graduate Programme for Design Studies, he pursued interdisciplinary design research grounded in architectural studies. He completed the doctoral program at Kyoto University in 2018. He was a Research Fellow (DC2) of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) from 2016, and served as Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture and Architectural Engineering, Graduate School of Engineering, Kyoto University, from 2018. He joined Musashino University as Lecturer in the Department of Architecture and Architectural Design, Faculty of Engineering, in 2021, and has been Associate Professor since 2026. He is co-founder and co-director of the architectural collective OKAAA. His research fields include architectural and urban planning and design studies. His research focuses on design theories centered on the generation of “response” (tegotえ), exploring methods of self-organizing environmental design cultivated through dialogue, with particular attention to residents’ narratives and processes of valuing their living environments. In recent years, he has developed practice-based research that extends participatory design through the perspectives of commons and self-governance. Selected publications include Design and Design Studies (co-authored). Selected architectural works include Side House and the Learning Commons at Kyoto University Library. Selected social design projects include Wagamama Park in Omama, Midori City.

略歴
武蔵野大学工学部建築デザイン学科 准教授
神戸市生まれ。博士（工学）。2013年京都大学工学部建築学科卒業、2015年同大学大学院工学研究科建築学専攻修士課程修了。京都大学デザイン学大学院連携プログラム第1期生として、建築学を基盤に分野横断的なデザイン研究に取り組む。2018年同博士後期課程研究指導認定退学。2016年日本学術振興会特別研究員（DC2）、2018年京都大学大学院工学研究科建築学専攻助教を経て、2021年武蔵野大学工学部建築デザイン学科専任講師、2026年より同准教授。建築コレクティブOKAAA共同主宰。専門は建築・都市計画およびデザイン学。「手応え」の生成に着目した設計論を主題に、生活者のナラティブや価値づけのプロセスを手がかりに、対話を通じて育まれる自己組織的な環境デザインの方法論を研究している。近年は、コモンズや自治の視点から参加型デザインを発展させた実践的研究に取り組む。主な著書に『デザインとデザイン学』（共著）。主な設計作品に「側の家」「京都大学附属図書館ラーニングコモンズ」。主な社会プロジェクトに「みどり市大間々わがままパーク」。
